What are the steps I need to do to make the following happen? Switching plan, adding 2 new lines, adding 2 new phones
AT&T Unlimited Your Way - 3 lines
- AT&T Unlimited Extra plan $50/mo: my current phone number on a new iPhone 15 256GB ($25/mo) (a plan switch for my phone number)
- AT&T Unlimited Starter plan $45/mo: second phone number for old iPhone 11
- AT&T Unlimited Starter plan $45/mo: third phone number for a new iPhone 14 128GB ($5/mo)
I expect to pay about $170/mo based on my research. Is this accurate?
New Plans: 50 + 45 + 45 = $140
Monthly phone payments: 5 + 25 = $30
What activation fees or other fees do I need to know about?

Activation fees are $35 per line. There will be prorated charges for partial month. Taxes and fees will be about the same on the new lines as they are on your existing line

In other words, I hit a roadblock when it came to checking out on the ATT website. What are the steps I need to do to make the following happen? Can I do it all online? Do I have to complete this with multiple transactions?
I want to end up with 3 lines - 1) my current line on an upgraded phone, 2) kid1 with a phone number on my current/soon-to-be-old iPhone, 3) kid2 with a phone number on a new iPhone

So in other words you didn't actually ask the question in the first post?
What do you mean when you say you hit a roadblock? Explain?
The point of a forum like this is for you to ask questions, resolve problems, troubleshoot issues. If you are having one of those, why would you not start with that?
If you really want to avoid the issues that come up online, go to an AT&T store, preferably a corporate store. Walk in and tell him you want to add two new lines with new phones and upgrade your plan. They'll be more than happy to help you
And if you're doing a trade-in promotion you absolutely positively should do it this way. Every effort should be made to avoid mailing a trade-in phone

First post asks exactly the same question with more words. I appreciate that you pointed out the $35 activation fees, but I was hoping for someone other than you to respond, perhaps an ATT salesperson who understands the question and can outline the steps I need to take. I suspect this is a multi-step transaction with part done online and part done in person at the store.

Great….let’s see if there’s another poster who has more knowledge than a long time ACE with over 100,000 posts.
I’ll wait.

If you’re referring to formerlyknownas, that person did not have the knowledge I needed. And I don’t believe you do, either, skeeter.
And if no one else here does either, that’s understandable.
This forum was just one of several places I reached out while my local stores were closed overnight.

Have you logged into your online account, go to devices, and seen the gray box right next to your existing phone where it says "add a line"?
The application, or website will prompt you to add a line and purchase a phone.
You might want to switch your existing line to the new plan first and then go through the process of adding a line and buying a phone
However, I still highly recommend that if you are going to participate in any promotions that involve trading in an old phone, that you absolutely positively on pain of your phone going missing and never being found and you never getting credits, that you make your purchase and do your trade-in in an AT&T corporate store
If you want to proceed online, you do so at your own risk. It's not that hard. The website or the app will prompt you all the way through
