When you think that we've had 21 wickets in the whole game and Worcestershire need six in the next 20 overs - it's not going to happen, is it?

    Kent 407 & 133-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Matthew Waite sends down a short one which prompts Harry Finch to fly into the air like a, erm, bird, and pull the ball in mid-air towards deep square for a single.

It's surrounded by five dot balls. Finch is on 41 and Evison has 2. He might have had more but his glance off Waite's full-toss is well stopped by keeper Gareth Roderick.

  3. Worcestershire's 200th straight over in the fieldpublished at 16:48

    16:48

    Kent 407 & 132-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Harry Finch is tempted into playing at and missing one flighted in by Brett D'Oliveira prompting oohs and ahhs. He will be full of adrenaline now.

Just the single off the final ball of the over so Finch retains strike, on 40*.

  4. Postpublished at 16:45

    16:45

    Kent 407 & 131-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Matthew Waite almost cuts Joey Evison in half with a fine first ball of the over and then beats the bat with the second and fourth balls too.

A guttural roar of frustration at his misfortune from the bowler. He's produced some ripsnorters in the past half-hour on this placid 12-session old track.

Another maiden. Not that Waite looks satisfied as he stomps off looking very weary indeed.

  5. Postpublished at 16:41

    16:41

Short leg and a slip in for leg-spinner Brett D'Oliveira. Worcestershire giving it a concerted go here as the shadows start to lengthen.

Harry Finch has taken to kicking away anything outside leg stump and short leg is moved to silly point.

Another maiden over. The deficit is 80. 24 overs to come.

Matthew Waite comes on in place of Ben Gibbon. He hasn't had to move more than a few yards, he was at short mid-on, practically on the track, during Gibbon's spell.

Maiden over first up in this spell. Joey Evison negotiates it, just, the fifth ball just beats his edge, and off stump. He is on two, Harry Finch has moved to 39.

  7. Postpublished at 16:32

    16:32

    Kent 407 & 129-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Harry Finch picks up a couple off Ben Gibbon's second ball of the over to move to 33 and then dribbles one to the rope through deep extra cover to bring up another boundary.

Kent are 82 behind. 27 overs remain.

  8. Postpublished at 16:28

    16:28

    Kent 407 & 120-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Harry Finch cuts a single off Brett D'Oliveira as he rattles through another six deliveries. Five of them dot balls.

That's 46 he's bowled of the 195 overs Kent have faced since Saturday afternoon.

  9. 'Worcestershire supporters will think they can get a win'published at 16:26

    16:26

    Kent 407 & 119-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

    Matt Cole

It's been a bit of a sparse crowd today for Kent but no one's leaving the contest right now.

Particularly not the travelling Worcestershire supporters. They think it's just possible they can get a win here.

  10. Postpublished at 16:25

    16:25

    Kent 407 & 119-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Joey Evison gets through an over from Ben Gibbon with a series of solid defensive shots. This is by no means his first rear-guard effort of the season for Kent.

Another maiden over. 29 overs remain. 92 behind.

  11. Postpublished at 16:21

    16:21

    Kent 407 & 119-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Joey Evison gets off the mark with a streaky single from a Brett D'Oliveira googly.

Harry Finch negotiates the remaining five balls of the over without alarm. Just the one run from it.

  12. Postpublished at 16:19

    16:19

    Kent 407 & 118-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Ben Gibbon returns - he was given a warning by umpire Ben Debenham after running on the pitch just before he picked up that precious wicket in his last over.

Harry Finch gets up on his toes to drive past extra cover for four runs to move into the 30s.

31 overs reman. 93 the deficit. Six wickets in hand. One of them is Jack Leaning who has a bad hand and a lot of fatigue.

  13. 'Notts get first win but Lancashire made them wait'published at 16:15

    16:15

    Notts 503 & 81-1 v Lancashire 331 & 252

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Nottinghamshire got the first win of the season but Lancashire made them wait today, they made them toil.

That Haseeb Hameed innings spread over days two and three, coupled with Olly Stone's career-best 90, put Notts in the box seat.

They had to wait a long old time before dismissing Lancashire in their second innings, though, thanks to a splendid century to Matty Hurst - I'm looking forward to seeing how his career develops over the years.

Lancashire have given it everything and they've certainly not chucked the towel in but Notts got over the line to win by nine wickets.

  14. Postpublished at 16:15

    16:15

    Kent 407 & 114-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Harry Finch takes strike against Brett D'Oliveira after seeing his captain depart.

Finch moves to 26 after punching one through the hands of Adam Hose at short extra cover for a single.

It brings Joey Evison onto strike. He negotiates the final ball of the over.

32 overs left on he slate. The deficit is 97.

  15. WICKET: Bell-Drummond b Gibbon 41published at 16:11

    16:11

    Kent 407 & 113-4 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Now then... Ben Gibbon had beaten Daniel Bell-Drummond's edge earlier in the over and he's again managed to get the ball to move away from the right hander, beaten the bat and whacked off stump.

The resistance is broken. The 77-run partnership is broken.

Joey Evison joins Harry Finch. Still no Jack Leaning.

    Game very much on...

  16. Postpublished at 16:07

    16:07

    Kent 407 & 112-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira takes the second over of the session but a glimpse around the outfield shows several, er, irregular, shall we say, bowlers going through bowling warm-ups.

    Maiden for D'Oliveira.

  17. Postpublished at 16:05

    16:05

    Kent 407 & 112-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

Harry Finch carves a wide one from Ben Gibbon away into the covers and comes back for three.

Daniel Bell-Drummond rattles a similar delivery outside of off to the fence for a boundary from the next ball.

There are 35 overs remaining, but we may well not see all of them if the teams can agree on a draw as we enter the final hour.

Eight off the over means the deficit is down to double figures.

  18. Postpublished at 16:01

    16:01

    Kent 407 & 104-3 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

The players return to the field for the final session - Jason Holder actually sprinted into the middle. Does that give a glimpse into the Worcestershire mindset?

This 68-run partnership between Daniel Bell-Drummond and Harry Finch has shifted the momentum this afternoon. How far can they go?

  19. Division Two tablepublished at 16:01

  20. 'Durham remain unbeaten on return to Division One'published at 15:57

    15:57

    Hampshire 503 & 62-2 v Durham 432

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Hampshire's game with Durham hasended in an inevitable draw. No surprises given Durham's first innings only endedthis morning.

The players went off for bad lightat 2.47pm but it has now started raining. The analyst Simon Hughes suggested onair they had gone off "due to a lack of interest."

The pitch offered very little forthe bowlers over the four days and made for some dull viewing at times. ButDurham will be happy they kept themselves in this one. And they remain unbeatenon their return to Division One.
