These actually are 2 ingredient cookies or biscuits or whatever your kid likes to call them or whatever you want to treat them as.

Honestly, they’re so sweet and tasty, you don’t need anything else if you’re serving dessert or a quick snack for those days when you just can’t be in the kitchen for another second.

And here’s another secret.

You can do these 2 ingredient cookies with pretty much any fruit. The only thing is that the fruit should be mashable, puree-able (after cooking), or gone through a small sized grater to turn into a smooth paste/puree.

Then you simply mix the oats with the chosen fruit paste and bake for a quarter of an hour.

It doesn’t get any easier than this. You don’t have any excuse to not make snacks ever again now.

Here are some fruits that work well. I’ve tried it with apple, pear and banana puree, but here’s what else you can try:

  • mango
  • pumpkin
  • squash
  • strawberries
  • raspberries
  • peach
  • passion fruit
  • apricot

If you’re doing baby led weaning, serve these as they are from 6 months+. If your little one has the pincer grip established, you might have to tear them in smaller pieces to prevent them from overstuffing their mouths with it.

If you’re going with the traditional route of weaning, then you can serve these along your mashed food and around 8-9 months your little one should already be able to deal with table foods like these ones.

For older kids, just serve as they are.

You can serve these with some yogurt or, if your child is over 1, with a glass of milk or other dairy based drink like kefir or sana (dairy drinks are not recommended for under 1s as they shouldn’t replace the nutrients from breastmilk or formula just yet).

What is also to love about these is the fact that they are egg-free and could be made gluten-free with the right substitution.

The oatmeal in these cookies adds some extra fibre as well as some iron, an essential nutrient for kids growing up.

These are also great for little ones without any teeth. They’re soft and chewy and easy to munch away (by the way, I have 125 more foods you can give your little one if he hasn’t got teeth yet).

This is about it in terms of explanations. If you want to save it on a kid meals Pinterest board or such, you can do so with the image further below.

Further down you can also find the recipe card for the exact quantities and baking times and temperature.
